Here are The Best Things To Do In Fort Benning, Georgia

National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center
This museum focuses on the Infantryman and the values this position encompasses as well as the values of our nation. Those values are loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage. You’ll learn more about Infantryman and what their job entails, a day in their life and more.
Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center
This location opened in 1995 and showcases a lot of exhibits that feature a variety of snakes, turtles, tortoises, alligators and much more. This learning center allows the entire family to learn more about nature in this area as well as walking trails where you can catch a glimpse of actual wildlife.
173rd Airborne Brigade Memorial
This beautiful memorial pays tribute to those Sky Soldiers who fell during combat. This is also a dedication monument for families of the fallen Sky Soldiers. This memorial is a beautiful sight to see and a great way to remember those who died while protecting our freedoms.
Columbus Museum
This is the second largest museum in Georgia and features art room to room and wall to wall. The focus of this art museum is on the Southeast and the Chattahoochee River Valley area. If you’re going here with children, be sure to visit Transformations, where your child can create their own masterpiece.
RiverCenter for the Performing Arts
Enjoy a wide range of performances on a date night out at this location. With comfortable seating and perfect sound, you’ll have to experience a show of a lifetime here while in Fort Benning, GA. You may even be able to see The US Navy Band Country Current perform some bluegrass.
National Civil War Naval Museum
Overlooking the Chattahoochee River, this museum helps the average citizen to connect with our past by seeing the Navy’s position in the Civil War. Home of the largest surviving Confederate warship, the CSS Jackson as well as many full-scale replicas from the Civil War era.
